V for Vendetta

Went to see this last night with mrBen and the Gordiemeister. Nice to see the use of Shakespeare quotes, intertextuality of the Guy Fawkes story among others, playful use of alliteration; but my goodness there was a lot of gratuitous blood at the end, and where exactly did Natalie Portman get two hundred roses from in an underground station?

Nice to see John Hurt as Big Brother rather than Winston, and Stephen Rea was very good. A rather more O.T. than N.T. view of revenge - but I like the idea of revolutions taking place in fancy dress.
